Go Tralee to give town the KISS of life

“KEEP It Stupid Simple (KISS)” was the message from The Apprentice’s Brian Purcell to a gathering of Tralee business people who are making a new effort to improve the image of the town.

It was announced at the meeting that an initiative to be facilitated by the Tralee Chamber of Commerce will be launched on November 20th with an emphasis on the slogan “Go Tralee Keep It Local”.

This shopping bonanza will attract shoppers to Tralee in the run up to Christmas and the business community in Tralee are being invited to contribute cash, vouchers and their time. An example of the goodwill that has already been generated includes a €1000 cash donation from Holiday Tralee to help fund the initiative, while 24/7 Cabs have offered to advertise Go Tralee on their taxis. All the publicity printing material has been sponsored by Kingdom Printers.

“I am aware of the challenges that are facing the people of Tralee but I believe we can pull the crux out of the ashes and develop a clear vision of how to raise the profile of Tralee,” said Brian Purcell of Insight Consultants, guest speaker at the meeting last Thursday night in The Grand Hotel.

Mr Purcell, who is the right-hand man to self-made millionaire Bill Cullen, said Tralee has the building blocks but needs the hunger and the only way to succeed is to take the KISS approach – Keep It Stupid Simple.

Among the vouchers that will be available to the public are a Golden Ticket worth €800 to next year’s Rose of Tralee Selections, Fashion Show and Rose Ball, a €500 voucher from Billy Nolan/Hilsers Jewellers and €800 worth of vouchers to the Aqua Dome.

According to Tralee Chamber of Commerce, the main focus of the Go Tralee initiative is to improve the sense of Civic pride that will ultimately lead to a drop in crime in Tralee.

“Go Tralee Keep It Local” will be launched on Radio Kerry on Friday November 20th with two outside broadcasts from Tralee town and further details of tremendous shopping vouchers and incentives to shop in Tralee.
