Community invited to “Go Tralee” for the sake of our children’s futures

CHILDREN in Tralee are being assured by the adults in whose hands their futures rely, that a massive effort will be made to change their attitudes for the sake of transforming the town into a positive place to live, work and play.

Go Tralee, which is the title of a new strategy for maximising Tralee’s full potential as a tourism and commercial destination, will be unveiled at a meeting in the Grand Hotel on Thursday 5th November at 7.30pm.

The initiative will be facilitated by the Tralee Chamber of Commerce together with the people, business community, local representatives and all organisations that have a role in the life of Tralee.

Dr Seamus O’Donovan, the President of Tralee Chamber of Commerce, said: “There is no doubt that we all want to make Tralee a better town but it’s time to start working together for each other to make this possible. The focus of everyone’s agenda must be on providing our children with an economically viable home town so that they can in turn be happy to bring their children up in Tralee.”

One of the guest speakers at next Thursday’s meeting will be Brian Purcell from Insight Consultants and TV3’s The Apprentice.

“As a Kerryman, I was proud to see the tremendous community and team spirit demonstrated during this year’s Rose of Tralee International Festival and it is proof that, if Tralee wants, Tralee can to pull out the stops to showcase the town in a positive light,” he said.

It is envisaged that next Thursday’s meeting and the subsequent assistance and input of those who attend will help light the spark that is needed to ignite some new life and vitality into Kerry’s capital town.

The meeting will take place at 7.30pm in the Grand Hotel, Denny Street, Tralee on Thursday next November 5th. Guest speakers on the night will include Brian Purcell from Insight Consultants and Mikey Sheehy, a Tralee businessman and former Kerry footballer.
