THE 2011 Rose of Tralee, Tara Talbot, has been presented with an early double dilemma less than a month into her reign.

Her loyalties will be truly tested next weekend when her native Ireland face her home country Australia in the Rugby World Cup on Saturday 17th and when her newly-adopted county Kerry take on her native Dublin in the All-Ireland Football Final on Sunday 18th.

“I wonder if it’s possible to support all four teams but I’m actually in a great position as I’ll have a happy outcome in both matches,” said Tara who was born in Dublin before moving to Australia when she was five.

“Ireland have not had a great run of luck in the build-up to the world cup but with Brian O’Driscoll at the helm and Newbridge Silverware’s leading man Ronan O’Gara on stand-by, the boys in green might spring a surprise against the Aussies,” she added.

As for the All-Ireland Final, Tara said that she was aware of Kerry’s experience going in to the match against the Dubs but she said that Dublin’s hunger for success might prove the ultimate driving force for Pat Gilroy’s men.

Tara Talbot was crowned as the Rose of Tralee on Tuesday 23rd August in front of one million TV viewers at home and abroad. She will be returning to Ireland in October to concentrate on a number of upcoming duties as the 2011 Rose of Tralee.
