THE invasion of Britain by the Kingdom of Kerry has succeeded in capturing the hearts and imaginations of hundreds of thousands of British men, women & children who now intend to spend their holidays in Kerry.

After visiting all the main centres of population in the UK – London, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool & Leeds – the Kerry Bus on Tour has achieved its goal of reawakening as the sleeping giant that is Ireland’s largest tourism market.

“I have been involved in the tourism industry in Ireland for over a decade and in all that time I have never seen such a positive response to a marketing campaign such as the Kerry Bus On Tour. We have reached a huge potential market directly through the trade events that we attended in Birmingham and London as well as thousands of potential tourists who will strongly consider coming to Kerry for a short or long break this year,” said Thys Vogels, the Tour Manager.

The tour of Britain was so successful and unique that the Bus has been invited to take centre stage at the Meitheal Conference in Dublin this week. This is Ireland’s premier Travel Trade Event of the year.

“We will be taking-part in the hosted evening for national and international Travel Trade Buyers at the Mansion House tonight (Monday), followed by participation at the entrance to the exhibition at the RDS on Tuesday and Wednesday. As a monument to tourism in the southwest we’ll be parking on Dublin’s O’Connell Street beside the Millennium Spire on Thursday and Friday as part of our aim to raise further awareness of Kerry as a perfect holiday or short-break destination for the domestic market,” said Thys.

The Kerry Bus On Tour will complete its marketing campaign with a trip around Ireland stopping in Belfast, Cork and Limerick before returning to Kerry to wrap up the tour.

The tour was funded and supported by Kerry County Council, Tourism Ireland, Fáilte Ireland, All Kerry Tourism, South Kerry Development Partnership, Collarbor8 Interreg Programme, North & East Kerry Development, Holiday Tralee, Dingle Peninsula Tourism, Swing Golf, Kerry Airport and Ballybunion Development Company.
